Personal Training for Men on TRT in Phoenix, AZ
Your prescription is one piece of the picture. Training, sleep and eating habits are the rest, and that's the part Matt helps you build.
What Is Personal Training for Men on TRT in Phoenix?
Personal training for men on TRT in Phoenix at Form Fitness means working 1-on-1 with Matt Pithers on strength training, sleep and eating habits, alongside your prescriber's care. Matt handles the training and your doctor handles the medicine. Sessions are $100 at our Midtown Phoenix studio, $150 in your home, or $200 a month online.
Maybe you've just started testosterone therapy, or the results aren't what you pictured. The prescription doesn't come with a training plan, a bedtime or a coach who notices when you've skipped three sessions in a row.
Matt won't tell you anything about your dose, your labs or whether TRT is right for you. Those are your doctor's calls. What he will do is give you a plan that fits your week and keep you showing up for it. Book a free consultation and we'll talk it through.
Why Men on TRT Train With Matt
Matt Pithers has been a certified personal trainer since 2009 and co-owns Form Fitness with his wife, Hannah. His roots are in bodybuilding, calisthenics and nutrition training, and he has won bodybuilding competitions. He has spent years teaching people to add muscle a little at a time, eat to support their training and recover well enough to come back, which is exactly what men on TRT tend to skip when they try to do everything at once.
He also knows where his job ends. He's a trainer, not a clinician, and he'll tell you so. Health problems tied to poor diet and inactivity run in his family, and he wants his clients to stay strong for decades.
Why Does Training Matter When You're on TRT?
Testosterone therapy is a medical treatment. What you do in the gym, at the dinner table and at bedtime is still up to you.
Strength Comes From Training
Muscle gets built by asking it to do work. Matt programs your lifting so strength climbs steadily, at a pace your joints and technique can keep up with.
Consistency Beats Intensity
The CDC's physical activity guidelines for adults call for muscle-strengthening activity on at least 2 days a week, working all the major muscle groups. Two or three focused sessions you actually do will beat six you burn out on.
Sleep Is Part of the Plan
The CDC says adults need 7 or more hours of sleep a night, and plenty of busy men fall short. Matt will ask about your sleep, because a tired body doesn't train or recover well.
Habits Stick Around
Whatever happens with your treatment down the road, the habits you build now stay with you. A strong body and a routine you like are yours to keep.
How Does Matt Work With Your TRT Clinic?
Matt works alongside your clinician, not in place of one. Your clinic manages your prescription. Matt manages your training.
| Area | Your clinician | Matt |
|---|---|---|
| Diagnosis and whether TRT is right for you | Yes | No |
| Prescription, dose and changes to treatment | Yes | No |
| Lab work and what the results mean | Yes | No |
| Blood pressure and other health monitoring | Yes | No |
| Side effects or new symptoms | Yes | Refers you back to your doctor |
| Strength training program and technique | No | Yes |
| Everyday eating, sleep and activity habits | Can advise | Yes, with practical guidance |
You don't need to share your dose or your lab results with Matt to train with him.
Monitoring is your clinic's job, not ours. The Endocrine Society's clinical practice guideline on testosterone therapy recommends that doctors evaluate patients after treatment starts to check how they're responding and look for side effects, so keep your follow-up appointments.
TRT is a prescription therapy with real risks. In February 2025, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced class-wide labeling changes for testosterone products: it said studies confirmed an increase in blood pressure with all testosterone products, and it added results from the TRAVERSE trial to the labeling. In June 2026, HHS announced that the FDA had requested further labeling changes, described as proposed rather than final. Your prescriber is the right person to explain what any of this means for you.
Form Fitness doesn't prescribe, sell or recommend TRT. If you're wondering whether testosterone therapy is right for you, that conversation belongs with a doctor.

FAQs About Personal Training for Men on TRT
You don't need one, but a trainer helps you get the training part right. TRT is a prescription your doctor manages, and it doesn't come with a workout plan, eating habits or someone to keep you consistent. Matt builds that part around your goals and your doctor's guidance.
Focus on building a routine, learning good technique and adding weight gradually. At least two strength sessions a week, covering all the major muscle groups, is a sensible starting point. Report any new symptoms to your prescriber instead of training through them.
Don't count on it. Fat loss still comes down to habits like eating, activity and sleep, and your doctor is the right person to ask what to expect from your treatment. Matt gives practical nutrition guidance, but we don't write meal plans, since we're trainers and not dietitians. See weight loss training for men
Yes. Matt works alongside your clinician: your clinic manages your prescription, labs and monitoring, and Matt manages your training. With your permission, he can coordinate with your clinic so your plan fits your doctor's guidance.
That's a question for your doctor first. From the training side, lifting heavy safely comes down to good technique and gradual progression, and Matt only adds weight when your form is ready. If you feel unwell during a session we stop, and for some conditions we'll ask for your doctor's clearance before you begin.
Realistic results come from consistent training over months, not weeks. Many people feel a difference within a few weeks, and making training a lasting habit usually takes six months to a year. Matt won't promise specific numbers, and questions about what your treatment will do are for your doctor.
No. Form Fitness is a personal training studio, and we don't prescribe, sell or recommend testosterone therapy. If you're wondering whether TRT is right for you, talk with a doctor.
