What Does Personal Training for Men in Phoenix Include?
Personal training for men in Phoenix at Form Fitness means working 1-on-1 with Matt Pithers, a certified trainer since 2009. Most clients come in to build strength and muscle, lose fat, or stay healthy as they get older. Sessions are $100 at our Midtown Phoenix studio, $150 in your home, or $200 a month online.
If you've been meaning to get back in shape for a while, you're in the right place. Maybe you used to lift and fell out of the habit. Maybe work and kids took over, and the weight crept on without you noticing.
Wherever you're starting, Matt will meet you there. There's no supplement to sell you and no fad program to follow. You get a plan that fits your schedule and a coach who will be honest with you and keep you showing up. Book a free consultation and we'll figure out the rest together.
Why Phoenix Men Train With Matt
Matt Pithers co-owns Form Fitness with his wife, Hannah Pithers. He has been a certified personal trainer since 2009, holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, and is certified through ACE and NASM.
He came up through bodybuilding, calisthenics and nutrition training, and he has won bodybuilding competitions along the way. Whether you've never picked up a barbell, you've stalled after years of lifting, or you just want to do a pull-up again, he has coached someone like you.
His reason for doing this is personal. Health problems tied to poor diet and inactivity run in Matt's family, and he decided early on that he wanted to stay strong and active for as long as he could. He wants the same for his clients. As he puts it, it would be a shame to grow old without ever finding out what your body can do.
Clients describe his style as no-nonsense. One summed him up as "the perfect combination of the most strict coach you can imagine and the most inspiring cheerleader you have ever had."
What Can Personal Training Do for Men?
Most men don't need a fancier workout. They need a good one they'll stick with, from someone who understands how your body and goals change from your 30s on.
Build and Keep Muscle
Muscle loss starts sooner than most people think. NIH News in Health reports that it begins around age 30, with muscle mass dropping about 3 to 5 percent every decade. Strength training is the most direct way to slow that down.
Lose Fat Without Living in the Gym
You don't need hours of cardio. For most men, a few focused strength sessions a week and some better habits in the kitchen will do more, and you keep your muscle while the fat comes off.
Train Around Old Injuries
Bad knee? Cranky lower back? Good form, smart exercise choices and steady progress let you keep training without making things worse. Every program starts with an assessment, so Matt knows what he's working with.
More Energy for Everything Else
Getting stronger makes everyday life easier, from keeping up with your kids to getting through a long week at work. Having a few hours a week that are just for you helps too.
How Does Personal Training for Men Work?
It starts with a conversation, and the plan grows with you from there.
1.
Free consultation: Meet Matt at the studio or over video chat. You'll talk about your goals, your training history, any injuries and your schedule.
2.
Assessment: Matt checks your strength, mobility and measurements, so there's a clear starting point to track your progress from.
3.
Your plan: Train at the studio, at home or online, with practical nutrition guidance along the way. Online clients get their workouts each week in the Form Fitness app.
4.
Check-ins every 4 weeks: Matt re-evaluates where you are and adjusts the plan. Many people feel a difference within a few weeks, and making it a lasting habit usually takes six months to a year.
Our Approach: Keep It Simple
01 Proven Over Trendy
We stick with lifts and methods that work, not whatever exercise is going viral this month.
02 Earn the Next Step
The weight goes up when your form is ready for it, not before.
03 Straight Talk
Matt will tell you what's working and what isn't.
04 Strong for the Long Haul
We train for LIFE. The goal is to be strong at 70, not just to look good this summer.
